Ski Food Festival in Hochzillertal: Platzlalm cooks danish

In Hochzillertal, winter starts with good food. At the Ski Food Festival in mid-December, each participating hut in the Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach ski area and on the Spieljoch in Fügen represents a different country.

Norway, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, India and Mexico have all been featured. That variety is what makes these two days special: between runs, you can try dishes you won't find at any other ski hut. Platzlalm is cooking with a Danish theme.

How does it work?

In the morning, the participating huts hand out small samples from their country at the lift stations. That way, you can taste your way through several countries and decide where to stop for lunch. Afterward, you order the themed dishes right at the huts. You'll find the dates for the next festival on the Hochzillertal website, or just ask us at the front desk.

Danish food at the Zirbenlift

The Platzlalm team has set up its stand a little above the top station of the Zirbenlift. It's worth stopping by early: in the morning, there are small samples. Later in the day, you can order selected Danish-themed dishes at Platzlalm.

From the Platzlhof, the ski bus stops right outside the hotel and takes you to the base station in Kaltenbach in just under 10 minutes. Find out more about your winter vacation in Zillertal and Platzlalm on our website.
